SECTION 1270.10 DEFINITIONS


 

Section 1270.10  Definitions

 

The following definitions shall apply to this Part:

 

            "Applicant" refers to certified and noncertified applicants for employment with a school district as described in Sections 10-21.9 and 34-18.5 of The School Code (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, pars. 10-21.9 and 34-18.5).

 

            "Department" refers to the Illinois Department of State Police.

 

            "Director" refers to the Director of the Illinois Department of State Police or his/her designee.

 

            "CHRI" refers to criminal history record information as defined by 28 CFR 20.3(b), 1986.

 

            "Enumerated offenses" refer to those offenses listed in Sections 10-21.9(c) and 34-18.5(c) of The School Code.

 

            "FBI" refers to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

 

            "Personal identifiers" refer to name, sex, race and date of birth.

 

            "Positive identification" refers to identification based on fingerprint comparison.

 

            "Service" refers to the Illinois Department of State Police providing school districts with criminal background investigations as authorized by Sections 10-21.9 and 34-18.5 of The School Code.

 

            "State" refers to the State of Illinois.

 

            "Timely fashion" refers to the expeditious processing of material by the Department within a 2-week period, unless a need arises for processing of information for a request that is more serious in nature.
