Section 426.40  Definitions

            "Approval" – A fully executed Certificate of Compliance which allows for distribution of the approved reflector(s) in Illinois.

            "Certificate of Compliance" – The document to be submitted by a manufacturer for the purpose of obtaining Department of Transportation approval of bicycle reflectors.

            "Reflex reflector" – For the purpose of this Rule, means a rigid body device which reflects visible light – and with respect to that spectral range of the incident light which it does reflect (at any given orientation of the source and reflector) – reflects substantially all of the light back in the direction of the incident source, independent of the relative positioning of the source with respect to the reflector.
