    Amends the Tobacco Product Manufacturers' Escrow Enforcement Act of 2003. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the findings of the General Assembly and the purpose of the Act.

1    AN ACT concerning finance.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Tobacco Products Manufacturers' Escrow
5Enforcement Act of 2003 is amended by changing Section 5 as
6follows:
 
7    (30 ILCS 167/5)
8    Sec. 5. Findings; purpose. The The General Assembly finds
9that violations of the Tobacco Product Manufacturers' Escrow
10Act threaten the integrity of the tobacco Master Settlement
11Agreement, the fiscal soundness of the State, and the public
12health. The General Assembly finds that enacting procedural
13enhancements will help prevent violations and aid the
14enforcement of the Tobacco Product Manufacturers' Escrow Act
15and thereby safeguard the Master Settlement Agreement, the
16fiscal soundness of the State, and the public health. The
17provisions of this Act are not intended to and shall not be
18interpreted to amend the Tobacco Product Manufacturers' Escrow
19Act.
