SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
815 ILCS 505/2TTT new

    Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Defines "online real estate database provider". Provides that if an online real estate database provider includes, in its information concerning residential real property located in the State of Illinois, certain information on the quality of schools in which the residential real property is located, the online real estate database provider must use the most recent information available prepared by the State Board of Education. Provides that a violation of those provisions is an unlawful practice within the meaning of the Act.

1    AN ACT concerning regulation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
5Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2TTT as follows:
 
6    (815 ILCS 505/2TTT new)
7    Sec. 2TTT. School data; online real estate databases.
8    (a) As used in this Section, "online real estate database
9provider" means a person that is engaged in the collection and
10dissemination of information concerning residential real
11property located in the State of Illinois and making that
12information available to the public.
13    (b) If an online real estate database provider includes, in
14its information concerning residential real property located
15in the State of Illinois, information or summaries of
16information that includes grades, rankings, or other
17indications of a school's quality for a school district in
18which the residential real property is located or the schools
19that serve the geographic area in which the residential real
20property is located, then the online real estate database
21provider must use the most recent information available under
22Section 10-17a of the School Code.
23    (c) A violation of this Section is an unlawful practice
