Amends the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act. Provides that if a renewal application for a Firearm Owner's Identification Card is pending at the time a card expires, the card shall be valid for the person to whom it is issued until 7 business days after the date the person's new Firearm Owner's Identification Card is issued.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Firearm Owners Identification Card Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 7 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (430 ILCS 65/7) (from Ch. 38, par. 83-7)

| 7 | | Sec. 7. Except as provided in Section 8 of this Act, a |
| 8 | | Firearm Owner's
Identification Card issued under the |
| 9 | | provisions of this Act shall be valid
for the person to whom it |
| 10 | | is issued for a period of 10 years from the date
of issuance, |
| 11 | | except if a renewal application is pending at that time, the |
| 12 | | Firearm Owner's Identification Card shall be valid for the |
| 13 | | person to whom it is issued until 7 business days after the |
| 14 | | date the person's new Firearm Owner's Identification Card is |
| 15 | | issued.
