HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Leontyne
4Reese Tabb, who passed away on October 15, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leontyne Tabb was born to Albert Lee Sr. and
6Florence Wright on July 21, 1941; she began her education in
7Greenwood, Mississippi and then relocated to Chicago, where she
8graduated high school; she also graduated from South Suburban
9College with a degree in elementary education; she was married
10to her high school sweetheart Alton Reese Jr. until his death;
11in 1981, she married Adell Tabb; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Leontyne Tabb was a member of St. Luke Church of
13God in Christ, where she was a member of the Usher Board and
14Mother's Board; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Leontyne Tabb was preceded in death by her
16parents; her first husband, Alton; her second husband, Adell;
17and her brothers, Albert Jr. and John; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Leontyne Tabb is survived by her mother-in-love,
19Mollie Ann Tabb; her sons, Alton Reese, Albert Reese
20(Gwendolyn), and Anthony Reese; her bonus daughters, Ann Harris
21and Tina Tabb; her aunts, Martha Baker, Priscilla McNair, and

1Naomi Churchhill (Robert); her uncles, Nehemiah Wright
2(Leotha), Aaron Wright (Ericka), and Benjamin Wright; her
3God-children, Edwina Mannings, Gabriel Millines, and Stephanie
4Johnson; her grandchildren, Shawn Smith, Albert Reese Jr.,
5Ashlee Reese, Amber Reese, Arielle Reese, and Myles Reese; her
6great-grandchildren, Alexander and Alivia; and numerous
7nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and neighbors; therefore,
8be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11mourn the passing of Leontyne Reese Tabb, and extend our
12sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
13and loved her; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Leontyne Tabb as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
