HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dale
4Hecox of St. Charles; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Hecox was born in Clarion, Iowa to Paul and
6Golda Hecox on September 28, 1931; he attended the University
7of Iowa and served his country proudly in the U.S. Army Counter
8Intelligence Corps in Japan; he married Sondra Hecox on June 7,
91956; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dale Hecox and Sondra moved to Oak Park, where he
11worked for Price Waterhouse; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dale Hecox and Sondra then moved to Elmhurst,
13where they raised their family and where Dale was active in PTA
14events and with the Crescent Park Christmas Tree Land; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dale Hecox first worked for Alwry Engineering,
16before moving to Dean Foods Company as Controller, Vice
17President, and Treasurer, becoming a key member of the senior
18executive team that grew Dean Foods from a mid-sized regional
19dairy company in the late 1960s to a leading national dairy and
20specialty foods manufacturer in 2000, when he retired; and

1    WHEREAS, In 1988, Dale Hecox and Sondra finally settled in
2St. Charles, where Dale continued his work with Dean Foods; he
3was universally respected and adored at all levels of the
4organization from CEOs to the office custodians; his career at
5Dean Foods was a source of great pride to him and he treasured
6his time, his friends, and his tenure there; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dale Hecox and Sondra worked tirelessly for the
8Republican Party, canvassing many precincts; and
 
9    WHEREAS, In 2004, Dale Hecox and Sondra were awarded
10President George W. Bush's Crystal Award for their volunteer
11efforts in Kane County; and
 
12    WHEREAS, In Dale Hecox In 2012, Dale and Sondra were
13honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Kane County
14Republican Party; their enthusiasm engaged everyone they knew;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dale Hecox was preceded in death by his beloved
17wife, Sondra in 2016; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dale Hecox is survived by his daughters, Sharon
19Grether and Susan Sherman; his granddaughter, Zenobia Avalon;
20and his grandsons, Maximilian, Alexander, and Samuel;
21therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
2HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
3mourn the passing of Dale Hecox, and extend our sincere
4condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
5him; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Dale Hecox as an expression of our
8deepest sympathy.
