SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Harold "Bill" Brasie of Crystal
4Lake, formerly of Elmhurst, who passed away on January 15, 2017
5at the age of 88; and
 
6    WHEREAS, William Braise was born in Oak Park to Harold and
7Dorothy Brasie on July 12, 1928; he was a graduate of Oak Park
8High School and attended Indiana University; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Braise was a second generation owner of
10Middlewest Pet Foods, Inc.; when he retired, he devoted himself
11to volunteer work with Salvation Army and was named Volunteer
12of the Year in 1999; he was also a member of Lions
13International and received the Lions Committee Chairman Award
14for Crystal Lake in 2005; and
 
15    WHEREAS, William Braise was preceded in death by his wife
16of 64 years, Helen; his parents; and his eldest son, Stephen;
17and
 
18    WHEREAS, William Braise is survived by his children,
19Kathleen (Bill) Marciniak and Phillip (Cindy) Brasie; his
20daughter-in-law, Jeannie; his grandchildren, Scott Shenefelt,
21Mark (Esther) Shenefelt, Stephanie (Steve) Iwanski, Jason

1(Gail) Brasie, Emily (Kevin) Foerster, Donald (Sarah) Brasie,
2and Michael (Maggie) Brasie; and his great-grandchildren
3Madison and Olivia Brasie, Katie Foerster, Finnley Iwanski, and
4Angel and Dianna Salinas; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7William H. Braise, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of William Braise as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
