SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frank E. "Bud" Drake Jr. of Moline, who
4passed away on January 25, 2017 at the age of 80; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Drake Jr. was born in Moline to Frank Ellis
6and Alice Josephine Miller Drake on March 24, 1936; he served
7in the United States Navy and married Judy McKee in Kahoka,
8Missouri on October 11, 1958; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frank Drake Jr. was employed by AT&T for 32 years;
10he retired as a long distance technician in 1998; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Frank Drake Jr. was a member of Christ the King
12Catholic Church in Moline; he was a master gardener, a ham
13radio operator, and a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of
14America; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; he loved the
15Colorado Rocky Mountains and enjoyed fishing, reading, and
16scuba diving; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Frank Drake Jr. is survived by his wife, Judy; his
18four sons, Scott A. Drake and his partner, Michael Ward,
19Jeffrey S. (Martha) Drake, Mark (Sarah) Drake, and David M.
20(Tammy) Drake; eight grandchildren, Jamie and Devin Drake,
21Onna, Caleb, and Aubrey Drake, Justene Drake and her husband,

1David Hamilton, and Joshua and Austin Drake; two
2stepgrandchildren, Shelby and Emily Leemans; four
3great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Justin, and Boston Drake, and
4McKinnon Ray; and his sisters, Karen Zalewski and Patty
5Baltisberger; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Frank E. "Bud" Drake Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Frank Drake Jr. as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
