SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edna E. Cannon of Alton, who passed away
4on January 31, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edna Cannon was born to David E. and Nora L.
6(Hawkins) Keen on July 2, 1921; she married Ellison W. Cannon
7on June 2, 1946; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Edna Cannon was employed by the Alton Public
9School System, the Duncan Family, and Monticello College in
10Godfrey; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Edna Cannon was a member of the Lincoln Douglas
12Banquet Board, and a longtime member of the Busy Fingers Sewing
13Club; she was a member of Model Chapel AME Church, now Trinity
14AME Church; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Edna Cannon was preceded in death by her husband,
16Ellison; her parents; an infant son, Ellison Jr.; and her
17sisters and brothers, Nora Mae Keen, William L. Keen, David
18Keen, and Stella Keen-Johnson; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Edna Cannon is survived by her sons, David Cannon,
20Dennis Cannon, and Larry Cannon; her grandson, Joshua Cannon;

1her great-grandchildren, Kalea, Jaylynn, Kira, Ella, Lynnea,
2and Lillyanna Cannon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and
3relatives; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Edna E. Cannon, and extend our sincere condolences to her
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Edna Cannon as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
