SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski of Marengo, who
4passed away on January 25, 2017 at the age of 84; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski was born in Rockford to
6Theodore and Elsie (Lenz) Nork on May 24, 1932; she was a 1950
7graduate of Marengo High School and in 1954, graduated from
8Valparaiso University in Indiana; she later studied abroad at
9the University of Mainz in Germany, and represented the
10Institute of International Education of New York in their
11exchange student program; she received her Master of Arts from
12Middlebury College in Vermont; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski began her teaching career
14at Elgin High School teaching German and Spanish, leaving to
15study abroad; upon the completion of her studies, she returned
16to Elgin and devoted 28 years to teaching language arts at
17Elgin Community College; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski served Marengo as a member
19of the Marengo Planning and Zoning Commission and as a member
20of the Marengo Society for Historic Preservation; therefore, be

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski, and extend our sincere condolences to
4her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Ruth Jeisman-Hoszowski as an
8expression of our deepest sympathy.
