SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Zelmer "Jim" Turner of McHenry, who
4passed away on February 6, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Zelmer Turner was born in Verda, Kentucky to Mayo
6and Maddie (Rapier) Turner on November 21, 1938; he served in
7the United States Army; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Zelmer Turner was a truck driver for Teamsters
9Union Local 301 for over 35 years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Zelmer Turner was an avid fisherman and enjoyed
11fishing at the McHenry Dam; he traveled to Canada where he also
12enjoyed fishing trips; he loved to play cards, especially
13pinochle and cribbage; in his younger years, he played
14softball; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Zelmer Turner was preceded in death by his
16parents; his wife, Sandra; and his siblings, Rocky Turner,
17Elizabeth Lewis, Ben Turner, and Carla Youngblood; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Zelmer Turner is survived by his children, Donna
19(Larry) Kenyon, Deb (Rich) Steege, Diana (Jack) Winger, Ronald
20Turner, and Randy Turner; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Ashley,

1Bradley, Michael, Hunter, Catie, Eric, Connor, Alyssa, Troy,
2AJ, and Ian; and his great-grandchildren, Leanna and Timmy;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Zelmer "Jim" Turner, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Zelmer Turner as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
