SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of James Raymond Van Heirseele Sr. of
4Waukegan, who passed away on February 25, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, James Van Heirseele Sr. was born in McHenry to
6Raymond and Laura (Michels) Van Heirseele on August 15, 1931;
7he graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1949 and
8served in the United States Army during the Korean War; he
9married Mary Ryan at Immaculate Conception in Waukegan on
10October 5, 1957; and
 
11    WHEREAS, James Van Heirseele Sr. was a member of Plumbers
12Local 93 (currently Local 130); upon retirement, he became the
13Plumbing Inspector for the Village of Libertyville; and
 
14    WHEREAS, James Van Heirseele Sr. enjoyed traveling to visit
15family and trips through the Norstates Bank Ambassadors Club;
16his hobbies included bowling, softball, perch fishing,
17gardening, golf, and euchre; he was his children's and
18grandchildren's biggest fan; he was a member of the Holy Name
19Society, the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, the American Legion,
20and the Moose organizations; and
 
21    WHEREAS, James Van Heirseele Sr. was preceded in death by

1his parents; his stepmother, Harriet; his brothers, Wayne and
2Ken; and his son-in-law, Michael Dawson; and
 
3    WHEREAS, James Van Heirseele Sr. is survived by his wife,
4Mary; his children, Kathy (Dale) Paavilainen, Tom, Jim, Joe,
5Teresa (Perry) Miller, Michele (Art) Crowley, Maureen (Kevin
6Wenzel), Karyn (Alan) Hughes, Kevin (Darleen), and Eileen
7(Rick) Broske; 19 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and
8his siblings, Don (Melanie) and Barb (Durrell) Johnson;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12James Raymond Van Heirseele Sr., and extend our sincere
13condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
14him; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of James Van Heirseele Sr. as an
17expression of our deepest sympathy.
