SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Susan Marie "Susie-Q" Klen of Joliet, who
4passed away on March 7, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Susan Klen was born in Joliet on February 29, 1964
6and proudly celebrated her 13th birthday on February 29, 2016;
7she graduated from Joliet Township High School West Campus in
81982, the College of St. Francis in 1989, and Joliet Junior
9College in 2009; she also attended Texas Christian University
10in Ft. Worth, Texas; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Susan Klen served on the Joliet Junior College
12Board of Trustees, the Joliet Township High School Foundation
13Board of Directors, and the Joliet Township High School Alumni
14Association Board of Directors; she was a member of the Zonta
15Club of Joliet, where she served as Finance Chair and
16Parliamentarian; she served on the Witches Night Out Committee
17since 2010; she was a supporter and promoter of the Will-Grundy
18Center for Independent Living; also served as a Will County
19Election Judge and Rialto Square Theater Volunteer; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Susan Klen was preceded in death by her
21father-in-law, John W. Leeson Sr., and her grandparents; and

1    WHEREAS, Susan Klen is survived by her husband, John W.
2Leeson Jr.; her mother, Barbara Meurer; her father, James
3(Phyllis) Klen; her sisters, Kathy Klen, and Laura (Tim)
4Chaplin; her mother-in-law, Nellie Leeson; her sisters-in-law,
5Victoria (George) Ellis, and Terri (John) Prestas; her niece,
6Alexandra Chaplin; her nephews, Andrew and Aaron Chaplin; and
7numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Susan Marie "Susie-Q" Klen, and extend our sincere condolences
12to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be
13it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Susan Klen as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
