SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of JoAnn Walker Wyatt of Chrisman, who
4passed away on March 30, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt was born in Danville to Vern and
6Cecile Froman Walker on May 9, 1931; she married Earl Wyatt at
7the Chrisman United Methodist Church on September 16, 1951; and
 
8    WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt dedicated her life to her children and
9grandchildren; she was a member of several clubs, including
10Priscilla Club, Household Science, United Methodist Women, and
11Buzzing Bees; she enjoyed gardening and home projects; she
12dearly loved her family; and
 
13    WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt showed her affection to those around
14her with food and in her earlier farming days she would bring
15meals to her husband, son, and the hired hands working in the
16fields; she would fill the plates and bowls on noontime breaks
17with beef roast or fried chicken with all the fixings and
18finish them with pies, cakes, cookies, and thermoses of hot
19coffee; her affection was also shared at the many celebrations
20and gatherings with family and friends and she was quick to
21learn someone's favorite dish; she was famous for her coffee
22cake, homemade noodles, or her famous orange jello with

1mandarin oranges, and she always made sure there was plenty
2left over to take home; she would often mail these favorite
3treats to her grandchildren all over the country and no one
4would leave her house hungry; and
 
5    WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt will be remembered as a true
6matriarch; she was fiercely independent, strong-willed, and
7devoted her life to teaching the importance of family; she
8loved the memories of the farm home that she and Earl built and
9deeply treasured all the family gatherings; she was most proud
10of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and
11will be greatly missed by all; and
 
12    WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt was preceded in death by her husband,
13Earl; and
 
14    WHEREAS, JoAnn Wyatt is survived by her children, Jan (Tim)
15Fonner, Judy (Bill) Beard, and Philip (Lora) Wyatt; her
16grandchildren, Aaron (Melody) Fonner, Alissa (Jesse) Nixon,
17Wyatt Beard, Meredith Beard, and Hannah and Hollie Wyatt; and
18five great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
21JoAnn Walker Wyatt, and extend our sincere condolences to her
22family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
