SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Wallace P. Silverthorn of McHenry, who
4passed away on May 23, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Wallace Silverthorn was born in Niagara, New York
6to Wallace E. and Pearl (Golds) Silverthorn on January 4, 1929;
7he served in the United States Navy for six years and married
8Virginia Mielezarek in Chicago on November 25, 1950; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Wallace Silverthorn was employed as an engineer
10for Kux Machines in Des Plaines; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Wallace Silverthorn was a loving father, grandpa,
12and great-grandpa; he was a jack of all trades, particularly at
13maintaining his yard and dabbling in mechanics; he also enjoyed
14bowling, fishing, and golf; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Wallace Silverthorn was preceded in death by his
16parents; his wife, Virginia; his son, Gerald Beran; and his
17daughter, Cynthia Karr; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Wallace Silverthorn is survived by his children,
19Dennis (Nancy) Beran, Sandy (Gary) Sibilsky, and Sharon (Luis)
20Rivera; his 12 grandchildren; and his 15 great-grandchildren;

1therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Wallace P. Silverthorn, and extend our sincere condolences to
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Wallace Silverthorn as an expression
9of our deepest sympathy.
