SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert C. Crawford of St. Charles, who
4passed away on June 3, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Crawford was born in Chicago to Elmer and
6Winifred Crawford on February 4, 1933; he enlisted in the
7United States Army in 1951 as a Private-1 and served in the
8Korean War; he received the Korean War Service Medal, the Army
9of Occupation Medal-Japan, and the United Nations Service Medal
10for National Defense; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Crawford worked as a tool and die maker, a
12baker, and finally, a highly skilled machinist; he enjoyed 41
13years of employment at Dunlee/Philips, where he proudly
14received his first patent in 1994 and multiple awards of
15excellence throughout his career; he retired in 2002 from the
16Aurora location; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Robert Crawford was a man of many talents and
18hobbies from scuba diving to photography, leather carving to
19archery; his greatest loves, were fishing, horseback riding,
20and woodworking; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Robert Crawford was preceded in death by his

1loving wife, Anita; his parents; and his brothers, Lee (Kaye),
2Eugene (Lakettia), and Jack; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Crawford is survived by his daughters,
4Roseann Brittain, Deb Abram, and Lynn Potocki, and his
5granddaughters, Megan (Jovan) Joiner and Emily Abram;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Robert C. Crawford, and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Robert Crawford as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
