SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Green of Joliet,
4who passed away on June 26, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kathleen Green was born to Ralph and Betty Green
6on October 25, 1961; she graduated from St. Paul the Apostle
7School in 1975 and St. Francis Academy in 1979; she graduated
8from the College of St. Francis with a Bachelor of Education in
91983; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kathleen Green dedicated her life to the Joliet
11Park District where she was employed for over 30 years; she
12began as a part-time playground supervisor and progressed to
13Superintendent of Recreation for Special Recreation of Joliet
14and Channahon (SRJC); and
 
15    WHEREAS, Kathleen Green devoted her time to the special
16needs population and enjoyed coaching the Special Olympics; her
17passion was softball and she was an inspiring mentor to her
18SRJC staff and participants; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Kathleen Green was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan;
20she traveled with her family to different parts of the country
21to support the Cubs and watch them play; her dream came true

1when she watched the Cubs win the World Series; she adored her
2great-nephew, Collin, who called her "Auntie", and they always
3looked forward to spending time together; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Kathleen Green was preceded in death by her
5father, Ralph Green; her great-grandparents; her grandparents;
6her aunts, Mary Ann Doermann and Marcy Geheber; and her cousin,
7Tom Doermann; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Kathleen Green is survived by her mother, Betty
9Green; her sister and best friend, Lori Green; her niece, Sara
10(Kyle) Kolodziej; her great-nephew, Collin Kolodziej; and
11numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers;
12therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Kathleen "Kathy" Marie Green, and extend our sincere
16condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
17her; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Kathleen Green as an expression of
20our deepest sympathy.
