SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Christopher R. McFadden of Frankfort, who
4passed away on June 29, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Christopher McFadden was born in Joliet to Susan
6and Terry McFadden; he attended Joliet West High School and
7graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1997, where he
8was an editor of the Harvard Crimson newspaper; he earned his
9law degree, cum laude, from the Northwestern University School
10of Law in 2000, where he was on the law review and earned Order
11of the Coif; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Christopher McFadden was a federal district law
13clerk in Montgomery, Alabama; he also clerked on the United
14States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit; he worked as an
15Assistant United States Attorney in San Diego, California and
16Chicago from 2005 to 2016 and never lost a case; while at the
17U.S. Attorney's Office, he was awarded an FBI Commendation, a
18National Crime Victims Certificate of Appreciation, and the
19Chicago Crime Commission Star of Distinction Award; he
20successfully prosecuted 28 cases, including a $600 million
21fraud case and a joint case with the Illinois Department of
22Securities involving $1 billion in funding; he worked at
23Northwestern University School of Law as an adjust lecturer

1from 2007 to 2012; most recently, he was an associate at the
2law firm of Mahoney, Silverman and Cross in Joliet; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Christopher McFadden served on the Frankfort
4School Board and was president from 2013 to 2015; he was
5re-elected to the Frankfort School Board in April of 2017; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Christopher McFadden was a Big 10 baseball umpire
7and a college basketball official; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Christopher McFadden is survived by his parents;
9his wife, Sarah Bay McFadden; his children, Brooke, Matthew,
10and Erin; his brothers, James (Ginger) and Daniel (Ashley); two
11nieces; and one nephew; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Christopher R. McFadden, and extend our sincere condolences to
15her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Christopher McFadden as an
19expression of our deepest sympathy.
