SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward Pierce of Marengo, who passed away
4on August 25, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Pierce was born in Atlanta to Arthur Lloyd
6and Doris Francis (Snook) Pierce on August 21, 1930; he served
7in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War; he
8married Darlene R. Golz on January 20, 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Edward Pierce was a farmer and a real estate
10broker until his retirement; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Edward Pierce enjoyed spending time with his
12family, watching the Chicago Bears football games, and
13traveling with his wife; he will be remembered as a loving
14spouse, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who never
15lost his sense of humor; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Edward Pierce was preceded in death by his
17daughter, Cynthia Maria Pierce; and his siblings, Mary Etta
18Allen, Arthur Eugene Pierce, and Robert Grant Pierce; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Edward Pierce is survived by his wife of 66 years,
20Darlene; his children, Richard (Peggy) Pierce, Catherine

1(Dave) Frank, Steven (Selene) Pierce, and Ronald (Ann) Pierce;
2his 12 grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; and his
3sister-in-law, Joyce Pierce; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Edward Pierce, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Edward Pierce as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
