SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mary A. Ulrich of Peoria, who passed away
4on October 8, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was born in Peoria to Glen and Daisy
6(Smith) Horr on May 8, 1936; she graduated from Canton High
7School and attended Midstate College; she was a Certified
8Financial Administrator and a Certified Municipal Illinois
9Treasurer; she married Harry L. Ulrich in Indiana in 1963; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was the manager of the Peoria City
11Employees Credit Union; she then worked as the City Treasurer
12and was proud of the way she grew the Firemen's Pension for the
13City of Peoria; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was active on the Board of the Boys
15and Girls Club of America; she was a past President of the
16National Treasurers Association, a past Director of the
17Municipal Treasurers Association of the United States and
18Canada, the Proclamation President of the Municipal
19Association, and a member of the Illinois Municipal Treasurers
20Association; she received a Trustee Program Certificate of
21Completion, as well as a special service award for her
22achievements and commitment; she was also awarded the Charlotte

1Danstrom Women of Achievement Award from Women in Management,
2Inc.; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was a member of the Living Waters
4Lutheran Church in Peoria; she enjoyed traveling Europe,
5spending Saturday nights watching movies with her girlfriends,
6volunteering, collecting angels, and hosting Christmas Eve for
7her family; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich was preceded in death by her parents;
9her husband, Harry; her daughter, Jean Johnson; her son, Mitch
10Ulrich; her brother, Bobby Horr; and her sisters, Wanda Vanardi
11and Jean Nebergall; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mary Ulrich is survived by her sons, Harry
13(Cheryl) Ulrich and Rick (Cathy) Ulrich; her grandchildren,
14Bonnie (Mark) Meinders, Robert (Jessica) Johnson, Matthew
15Ulrich, Jillian (Christopher) Hansen, Jessica (Eric) Force,
16Rachel (JF) Ferretti, Robert Kessler, Rick (Crystal) Ulrich,
17and Katelynn Kessler; her numerous great-grandchildren; and
18her sisters, Elizabeth Newton and Judy (Don) Woodcock;
19therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
22Mary A. Ulrich and extend our sincere condolences to her

1family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it

3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
4presented to the family of Mary Ulrich as an expression of our
5deepest sympathy.
