SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Sally Jane Gavers of Woodstock, who
4passed away on October 7, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sally Gavers was born in Crystal Lake to
6Christopher and Whilamena Schumacher on October 2, 1938; she
7graduated from Crystal Lake High School; she married Donald R.
8Gavers on October 21, 1961; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Sally Gavers worked for a veterinarian shortly
10after her high school graduation, and it was there that she
11developed a love of animals; she then began a career as a
12beautician, which spanned 50 years; she and her husband started
13Gavers Asphalt, Paving & Excavating Company in 1969, and
14everyone knew she was the glue that held the company together;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Sally Gavers was adventurous and liked the
17outdoors; she went crabbing in Puget Sound and spent her
18winters in Florida with her husband; she was a NASCAR fan, and
19her collection of ceramic frogs brought her joy; all were
20welcome in her home, and her kitchen table was a gathering
21place for family and friends; she could find the best in
22everyone; and

1    WHEREAS, Sally Gavers was preceded in death by her husband,
2Don; her parents; and her brothers, Don (Donna) and Michael
3Schumacher; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Sally Gavers is survived by her sons, Steve
5(Diane) and Digger Gavers; her sister, Pat Williams; her
6step-granddaughter, Ashley Ackerman; her sister-in-law, Claire
7Barnett; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Sally Jane Gavers and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Sally Gavers as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
