SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Petrina M. Ragusa, who passed away on
4October 26, 2017 at the age of 103; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Petrina Ragusa was an active member of the Council
6of Catholic Women at the Church of St. Anthony Parish of
7Joliet; she was awarded "Woman of the Year" in 1968 and 2007;
8she was a member of the Columbianetts and Daughters of
9Isabella; she brewed coffee every morning for the breakfast
10club after mass and took care of the linens for the altar for
11many years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Petrina Ragusa was preceded in death by her
13husband, Joseph Ragusa Sr., and her parents, John and Carmella
14Grimaudo; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Petrina Ragusa is survived by her sons, Joseph
16(Lois), Dominic (Delores), John (Bonnie), and Peter (Janet);
17her grandchildren, Lora (Dwayne) Boothe, Mark (Sherry),
18Anthony (Tracy), Brad (David), Greg (Elizabeth) Ragusa, Gina
19(Jim) Tacchia, Amy (Jason) Buss, Carlo (Mary), and Amanda
20Ragusa; her great-grandchildren, Kylie and Tyler Boothe, Josh,
21Nicholas, Jacob, Mitchell, Alaina, Alex, and Abby Ragusa, Emma
22Tacchia, Sam, George, and Elizabeth Buss, and Johnny, Pauly,

1and Jimmy Ragusa; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore,
2be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Petrina M. Ragusa, and extend our sincere condolences to her
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Petrina Ragusa as an expression of
10our deepest sympathy.
