SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frieda Haddad Abdnour of Peoria, who
4passed away on November 5, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frieda Abdnour was born in Peoria on October 29,
61918; she married Ralph Abdnour in 1946; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Frieda Abdnour and her husband opened a grocery
8store in Streator; after his passing, she moved back to Peoria
9and opened Aunt Frieda's Deli in Haddad's Grocery Store; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Frieda Abdnour was a member of the St. Bernard's
11Women's Club and volunteered at the Immaculate Conception
12Convent; she was a loyal volunteer at the Komen Center for 19
13years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Frieda Abdnour enjoyed cooking and baking for her
15family and became well-known in Peoria for her cooking talents;
16she was happiest when she was with her children; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Frieda Abdnour was preceded in death by her
18husband, Ralph; her brother, Fred Haddad; her nephew, Robert
19Haddad; and her niece, Carol Gardula; and

1    WHEREAS, Frieda Abdnour is survived by her sons, Louis,
2Joseph (Chris), Ralph, Tom (Brigid), and Frank (Donna); her
3daughters, Cathy Abdnour and Louise (Norm) Hodge; 10
4grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Frieda Haddad Abdnour, and extend our sincere condolences to
8her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Frieda Abdnour as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
