SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jerry BoBo of North Chicago, who passed
4away on August 12, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was born in St. Louis, Missouri to
6William Melvin Sr. and Byrdelee M. BoBo on June 6, 1954 and was
7a resident of North Chicago and Lake County for almost 60
8years; he was baptized at the age of 10 at the "Old" Mt. Sinai
9Baptist Church and was active in Sunday school, the youth
10department, young ushers, vacation Bible school, Christmas
11programs, Easter programs, and numerous other programs; he
12attended Central School and Neal Junior High School, graduating
13in 1968; he graduated from North Chicago Community High School
14in 1972 and attended college in California; he married Lois
15BoBo; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was on the cutting edge of the
17implementation and adaptation of computer software and
18computer programming for use in the workplace in the late 1970s
19and 1980s; he worked for Ross Perot's company, Electronic Data
20Systems (EDS) in Texas; later, he was employed by Abbott
21Laboratories in North Chicago; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was a member of Mt. Sinai Institutional

1Baptist Church in North Chicago for 54 years; he loved fishing
2with his brother, "Skip" BoBo, and his nephew, "Binky" BoBo;
3throughout his entire life he loved tinkering with projects by
4repairing, rehabbing, and remodeling small and large projects;
5he was known for his kind heart and was always willing to help
6other people; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo was preceded in death by his parents;
8his sister, Marlene "DoDo" Furlow; and his brother, Melvin L.
9"Skip" BoBo; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jerry BoBo is survived by his daughters, Sydney
11and Alexandria; his nephews, Melvin L. III, James R., Kerry L.
12(Helen), and Larry (LaTanya); his loving sister-in law, Billie
13D. BoBo: numerous cousins and great nephews and nieces; and a
14community of very close friends and associates, including
15George Gordon, Kevin Gross, and Mr. and Mrs. DelConte;
16therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
19Jerry BoBo, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
20friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Jerry BoBo as an expression of our
