SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Antonio "Tony" Torres of Waukegan, who
4passed away on August 21, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tony Torres was born in Fresno, Mexico to Jose and
6Guadalupe "Pro" Torres on April 2, 1949; he was educated in
7Waukegan schools and married Linda Papp; he later married
8Sandra Lopez; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Tony Torres worked at Johnson Outboard Motors for
10over 30 years, retiring when they closed in 2000; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Tony Torres was a member of the Latin Pentecostal
12Church of God, where he served in many capacities; he also
13attended Apostolic Faith Church in Pleasant Prairie; he was a
14jack of all trades and was a great problem solver; his family
15was the most important thing in his life; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Tony Torres was preceded in death by his wife,
17Sandra; his mother; his son, Antonio; and his sister, Rachel;
18and
 
19    WHEREAS, Tony Torres is survived by his children, Rachel
20(Sarkis) Albarran, Lolita (Regan) Croswell, Sharon Torres,

1Trixy (Mauricio) Hernandez, Ricky (Lydia) Torres, Steven
2Torres, Rebecca Torres, America Torres, Antonio Torres, and
3Angelique Torres; his father, Jose Torres; his siblings, Alice,
4Beatrice, Esther, Mary, Ralphie, and Frank; 20 grandchildren;
5and 13 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Antonio "Tony" Torres, and extend our sincere condolences to
9his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Tony Torres as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
