SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Madisen Nicol Bertels of Staunton, who
4passed away on November 21, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels was born in Alton to Dean Bertels
6and Cassy Loflin on June 4, 2000; she was a senior at Staunton
7High School, where she was on the honor roll, a member of the
8homecoming court, and played on the girls' golf, softball, and
9basketball teams; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels was planning on majoring in
11architectural design; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels was loved and liked by all; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels was preceded in death by her
14paternal grandmother, JoAnn Bertels, and her
15great-grandfather, Roy Cooper; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Madisen Bertels is survived by her mother, Cassy
17Loflin; her father, Dean Bertels; her brothers, Dallas and
18Titan Bertels; her longtime boyfriend, Brylie Hassard; her
19paternal grandfather, Allen Dean Bertels; her maternal
20grandparents, Glen and Beverly Loflin; and several aunts,

1uncles, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Madisen Nicol Bertels, and extend our sincere condolences to
5her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Madisen Bertels as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
