SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Raymond A. "Ray" Staskewich; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich graduated from Waukegan High
5School in 1942; he served in the United States Army during
6World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart; he graduated from
7DePaul University in 1951; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich was a coach and physical education
9teacher in North Chicago at North School and Novak King for 32
10years and could not go anywhere in the area without a former
11student stopping him to say hello to "Coach"; during the
12summer, he worked as a security guard for Abbott Laboratories;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich was a member of St. Anastasia
15Catholic Church for 58 years; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich loved to play golf, watch sports,
17spend time with his family, and talk about his time in the
18service and as a teacher; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ray Staskewich is survived by his wife of 68
20years, Carol; his daughter, Joyce Meuth; his son, Robert; his

1grandchildren, Carol and Heidi Meuth and Amanda and Christina
2Staskewich; his brother, William Staskewich Jr. (Marian); and
3his nieces and nephews, Terry, Suzie, Ruth, and Jill;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Raymond A. "Ray" Staskewich, and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Ray Staskewich as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
