SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Maggie Arseneau of Spring Grove, who
4passed away on December 15, 2017; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was born in Chicago to Edward and
6Arline (Lane) Dodge on April 15, 1946; she graduated from
7Wilmot High School in 1964 and was selected as the Kenosha
8County Fair Queen that same year; she married Richard "Baldy"
9Arseneau in Wilmot, Wisconsin on April 1, 1967; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was a farmer and housewife for
11over 50 years; she was a member of the Pure Milk Association,
12Associated Milk Producers Inc., and the McHenry County Farm
13Bureau; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was a charter member of the
15Richmond Trailblazers Snowmobile Club in 1971 and amassed over
16200,000 miles of snowmobiling during her time with the club;
17she was a contributing editor to ILL Sno Magazine and won many
18awards for her contributions; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau's first lab, Gus, was a loyal farm
20dog and companion; her 2nd, Rocky, won numerous awards as a
21novice in dog showing, including Dog World Awards in both the

1U.S. and Canada; she joined the Wag Agility Club and her third
2lab, Shadow, won honors in both obedience and agility; she
3became one of the top instructors and now her 4th lab, Cruiser,
4follows in their footsteps; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was a member of St. Peter's Church
6of Spring Grove; she was a Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers
7fan; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau was preceded by her parents; her
9sister, Susan Niles; and her brother, Edward Jr.; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Maggie Arseneau is survived by her husband of 50
11years, Richard; her sisters, Ruth (Bever) Morton and Christine
12(Ed) Shaw; her brothers, John (Lorinda) and Ken (Linda) Dodge;
13several nieces and nephews and their families; her
14sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Gary) Freund; her brothers-in-law,
15Bill (Mary Jane) and Jack (Susie) Arseneau; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Maggie Arseneau, and extend our sincere condolences to her
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
20further
