    Amends the Sanitary District Act of 1907. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning a petition to incorporate as a sanitary district.

1    AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Sanitary District Act of 1907 is amended by
5changing Section 1 as follows:
 
6    (70 ILCS 2205/1)  (from Ch. 42, par. 247)
7    Sec. 1. Whenever any area of contiguous territory within
8the the limits of two counties, having within its limits two or
9more incorporated cities or villages, and an aggregate
10population of not less than 3,500 inhabitants, shall be so
11situate as to be subject to overflow from any river or
12tributary thereof, and the maintenance of one or more levees
13for the protection of the same against such overflow, and of a
14new or improved outlet for the drainage thereof, will conduce
15to the preservation of the public health and safety, the same
16may be incorporated as a sanitary district, in the manner
17following: Any three hundred legal voters resident within the
18limits of such proposed district, may petition the circuit
19court for the county in which the majority of such petitioners
20reside, to cause the question to be submitted to the legal
21voters of said proposed district, whether they will organize as
22a sanitary district under this act. Such petition shall contain
23the name of such proposed sanitary district, and a definite

1description of the territory intended to be embraced therein:
2Provided, no territory shall be included within more than one
3sanitary district under this act.
