HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Ernest
4Vincent Sr., who passed away on December 31, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent was born in Hazlehurst,
6Mississippi to Eddie and Willie Mae Vincent on May 27, 1943; he
7graduated from Damascus Elementary School and from Parrish High
8School in April of 1961; he graduated from Utica Junior College
9in Mississippi in May of 1963; he joined the U.S. Army in May
10of 1965 and was honorably discharged in May of 1971; among his
11many military commendations include the Rifle Marksman Badge,
12the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal;
13he married Sandra "Bonita" Criner on June 29, 1974; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent worked for 18 years at the National
15Castings Corporation; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent was affectionately known as
17"Dada"; his home was always open to anyone in need and he made
18sure his children and grandchildren had everything they needed
19to be successful in life; in September of 1955 at the age of
2012, he was baptized and joined the Damascus Church in
21Hazlehurst, and in 1990, he joined the Monument of Faith
22Church; he always enjoyed the annual family vacations; and

1    WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent was preceded in death by his wife,
2Sandra; his daughter, Roshantta Criner; his parents; his
3siblings, John L., Mary, Roy, Inez, Frances Lottie, and Bertha;
4his father-in-law, Sam Henry Criner; and his mother-in-law,
5Mary Lee Wiggly; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Ernest Vincent is survived by his children, Evelyn
7Dawson, Keith (Karen) Criner, Ernest Moore, Tremayne (Deborah)
8Criner, William "DJ" (Valerie) Moore, Christopher (Shauntrece)
9Vincent Sr., and Carita (Eliathan) Smith Sr.; his
10grandchildren, Krystal, Allan, Nefertiti, Kierstan, Trenzel,
11Da'Shayla, Zamare, Whitney, Nigel, Eliathan Jr., Rondre, Zion,
12Eliyana, Chrislynn, Jerome, and Ethan; his
13great-grandchildren, Kai, Lailyn, and Kaleb; his siblings,
14Eddie Vincent, Dorothy Patterson, and Dr. Charles (Delores)
15Vincent; his mother-in-law, Shirley Criner; his
16sisters-in-law, Beverly Jenkins, Pamela (Steve) Barlow, Rosie
17Wiggly, and Letitia Austin; his brothers-in-law, Roosevelt
18Wiggly, Henry Bell, and Tyrane Wiggly; his god-sister, Marsha
19Blackwell; his god-daughters, Delores Williams, Sandra Hamlin,
20and Tyeresa (Chris) Vaval; and numerous nieces, nephews,
21cousins, other relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
22    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
23HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we mourn the passing of Ernest Vincent Sr. and extend our
2sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
3and loved him; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the family of Ernest Vincent as an expression of
6our deepest sympathy.
