HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4the lives of Illinois citizens; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Doug Wilson is retiring as Mayor of the City of
6Henry after eight years of municipal service; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Mayor Wilson, an Ohio native, received his formal
8education in Ohio; he graduated from Buckeye High School in
9York, Ohio; he graduated as a Diesel Engine Technician from
10Ohio Diesel Technical Institute in 1983; he furthered his
11education at the University of Akron, where he graduated Cum
12Laude and received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
13Engineering in 1998; and
 
14    WHEREAS, After his graduation in 1998, Mayor Wilson moved
15to Illinois, where he began working as a Test Center Engineer
16at Caterpillar; during his 21 years at Caterpillar, he has held
17many leadership positions, most notably as a Multiple Project
18Manager and a Diesel Engine Technical Trouble Shooter & Complex
19Issue Problem Solver; he has obtained three U.S. Patents,
20including one that is still current; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Mayor Wilson was elected 2nd Ward Alderman for the

1City of Henry in 2011; he was elected Mayor of the City of
2Henry in 2014; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Leading the City of Henry, Mayor Wilson worked
4successfully to eliminate the sewer debt that had been looming
5over the town; he focused on keeping the City of Henry peaceful
6and friendly; foremost, he drove the Henry Port Project, which
7brought industrial development to the area; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mayor Wilson looks forward to retiring in Southern
9Ohio with his wife, Romanita, on the seven-acre rural site he
10purchased in 1985; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
12HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
13we congratulate Mayor Doug Wilson on the occasion of his
14retirement and wish him all the best in his future endeavors;
15and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to Mayor Wilson as an expression of our esteem and
18respect.
