HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Naperville Central
4High School boys water polo team, the Redhawks, on having an
5excellent competitive season that culminated in winning the
62019 state championship on May 18, 2019; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Prior to competing in the 2019 championship game,
8the Redhawks enjoyed an exciting last second win over Stevenson
9High School in the state quarterfinal and a 10 to 6 win over
10Fenwick High School in the semifinal; and
 
11    WHEREAS, In the title game, the Redhawks posted an 8 to 5
12win over Lyons Township High School; they scored three
13unanswered goals early and then scored once in the second
14quarter, twice in the third quarter, and twice in the fourth
15quarter; and
 
16    WHEREAS, The Redhawks also won the state title in 2018 and
17have now taken top honors in state competition in three of the
18last four years; and
 
19    WHEREAS, The Redhawks are coached by Head Coach William
20Salentine and Assistant Coaches Andy Doyle and Steve Leclair;

1    WHEREAS, The Redhawks are Liam Bleuher, Owen Codo, Cameron
2Dougherty, Quinn Dzieginski, Jonah Klein-Collins, Luke
3Klein-Collins, Mark Laboe, Henry Mills, Isaac Noren, Spencer
4Roehll, Benjamin Russo, Brad Sanford, Matthew Simon, and Sean
5Stablein; and
 
6    WHEREAS, These young men serve as models of hard work,
7integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
8Illinois; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we congratulate the Naperville Central High School boys water
12polo team, the Redhawks, on winning the 2019 state championship
13and wish them continued success and happiness in the future;
14and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
16presented to the Redhawks as a symbol of our respect and
17esteem.
