SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Monica Young, who passed away on December
44, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Monica Young was born in Glenview on November 14,
61947; she attended Glenbrook High School; she married Richard
7Young on February 26, 1966; and
 
8    WHEREAS, In 2014, Monica Young was instrumental in
9assisting her husband, Richard, in making McHenry County the
10first county in the State of Illinois to declare itself a
11Purple Heart County through the Military Order of the Purple
12Heart; a two-sided Purple Heart monument, which is the only one
13in the country and is located at the McHenry County Government
14Center, lets people know that wounded veterans are appreciated;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Monica Young, along with her husband, raised
17thousands of dollars for area charities and scholarships; she
18dedicated time on Thanksgiving and Christmas to cook dinner for
19local servicemen; she also coordinated the Friends of the
20National Rifle Association Banquet for 25 years; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Monica Young was a member of the Marine Corps

1League Detachment 1009 Auxiliary, the Military Order of the
2Devil Dog North Pound #369 Auxiliary, and the American Legion
3Post 491 Auxiliary; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Monica Young and her husband bred English Setters
5and Labrador Retrievers; they were also a licensed rescue for
6raptors; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Monica Young and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
10friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Monica Young as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
