SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gerald E. Wynes of Moline, who passed
4away on February 10, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Wynes was born to Otto and Ruth (McComas)
6Wynes in Moline on July 29, 1938; he married Emma M. Thompson
7in Moline on June 17, 1960; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Gerald Wynes served in the U.S. Marine Corps from
91956 until 1959; he was employed for 30 years as a machinist at
10John Deere Harvester Works in Moline, retiring in 1992; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Gerald Wynes was a member of the former Moline
12Evangelical Church; he enjoyed traveling with his wife in their
13motor home, playing golf, coaching Willard School Dads' Club
14flag-football, baseball, and basketball teams, and working on
15homes for Habitat for Humanity; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gerald Wynes was preceded in death by his parents,
17Otto and Ruth (McComas) Wynes; his daughter, Tonya Reilly; his
18brother; and his two sisters; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Gerald Wynes is survived by his wife, Emma M.
20Thompson; his daughters, Terri Roach and Tirza (Ben) Frank; his

1son, Thomas Wynes; his brothers, Dale Wynes and Jack Wynes; his
2granddaughters, Cynthia, Taylor, and Allison; and his
3great-granddaughters, Emily and Lilly; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Gerald E. Wynes and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Gerald Wynes as an expression of our
11deepest sympathy.
