SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence E. Gulley of Rock Island, who
4passed away on February 21, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Gulley was born in Benton to Lawrence J.
6and Josie (Aaron) Gulley on May 11, 1936; he married Bettie
7McGuire in 1956; he served in the U.S. Air Force during the
8Korean War; he married Mary Gulley in 1995; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lawrence Gulley worked as a union steward for
10Wonder Bread bakeries; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lawrence Gulley was preceded in death by his
12spouses; his son, Marshall Gulley; his parents; and his
13brothers, Arthur, Donald, and Charles Gulley; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lawrence Gulley is survived by his children, Trudy
15(Marty) Lawson, Becky (Larry) Thorndyke, Julie Miller, and John
16(Jacqueline) Gulley; his stepdaughter, Shelly; his 11
17grandchildren; his 14 great-grandchildren, with one more on the
18way; and his siblings, Mabel Harvey, Bill Gulley, and Robert
19Gulley; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
2Lawrence E. Gulley and extend our sincere condolences to his
3family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6presented to the family of Lawrence Gulley as an expression of
7our deepest sympathy.
