SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Russell "Russ" Lyle Sheese of Moline, who
4passed away on July 17, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Russ Sheese was born to Lloyd and Lucille
6(Summers) Sheese in Buffalo Prairie on July 19, 1937; in his
7youth, he enjoyed playing baseball and basketball; after high
8school, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in Japan;
9soon after returning to the U.S., he married the love of his
10life, Patricia Ranney, at the Aledo United Methodist Church on
11December 7, 1958; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Russ Sheese retired from the Eagle Warehouse in
13Milan, Illinois; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Russ Sheese was a member of the Aledo United
15Methodist Church and later joined Riverside Methodist Church
16after moving to Moline; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Russ Sheese enjoyed bowling and golfing with
18friends; he loved making home movies and videos and was a true
19family man, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Russ Sheese was preceded in death by his parents;

1his siblings, Richard "Dick" Sheese and LaVon Rannow; and his
2half-brother, Walter "Bud" Davison; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Russ Sheese is survived by his wife; his children,
4Melanie (Daryl) Strathdee and Valerie (Clif) Anderson; his
5grandchildren, Kaylea and Justin Anderson; his
6step-grandchildren, Leah Niles and Emily Strathdee; and his two
7step-great-grandsons; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Russell "Russ" Lyle Sheese and extend our sincere condolences
11to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Russ Sheese as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
