SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Leo Robert Studer of Tolono, who passed
4away on September 4, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Leo Studer was born in Fisher to Harve and Carrie
6(Sommer) Studer on September 13, 1929; he served in the U.S.
7Army during the Korean War; he married Judi Wrather on July 2,
81967; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Leo Studer was a Champaign County Sheriff's Deputy
10for more than 30 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Leo Studer was active in many community
12organizations, including the Illini Lodge 17 Fraternal Order of
13Police, the Illinois Police Association, the Lions Club, and
14Tolono village government; he served as an election judge; he
15was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Flatville;
16he was an avid fisherman and a longtime member of the C-U Bass
17Club; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Leo Studer was preceded in death by his parents
19and his daughter, Michele; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Leo Studer is survived by his wife, Judi; his son,

1Kent (Anne); his grandsons, Jacob and Anthony; his sister, Lila
2Shields (Bob); and two nephews; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
5Leo Robert Studer and extend our sincere condolences to his
6family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
7further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Leo Studer as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
