SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence A. "Larry" Hammond of Milan, who
4passed away on December 5, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Hammond was born in Rock Island to Lawrence
6W. and Kathryn (Kelty) Hammond on February 3, 1948; he married
7Linda L. Groom on September 17, 1966; he served in the U.S.
8Army in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Larry Hammond was a drywall contractor; he was
10later employed at Jordan Catholic School in Rock Island; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Larry Hammond was a member of the Milan American
12Legion and several veteran's organizations; he loved spending
13time with his family, playing with his grandson, fishing, and
14building radio controlled planes; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Larry Hammond was preceded in death by his
16parents; his sons, Thomas Hammond and Tony Hammond; and his
17brother, Joe Hammond; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Larry Hammond is survived by his wife, Linda; his
19son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Amy Hammond; his grandson,
20Tanner; his foster granddaughters; and his sisters, Sandra,

1Laura, Roberta, Christa, and Barbara; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Lawrence A. "Larry" Hammond and extend our sincere condolences
5to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
6it further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Larry Hammond as an expression of
9our deepest sympathy.
