Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that any member of the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining to a firearm must be able to produce proof, upon request, that he or she has completed: (1) the firearm training requirements under the Private Detective, Private Alarm, Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of 2004; (2) range safety officer training; and (3) a basic knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended |
5 | | by adding Section 13 as follows: |
6 | | (25 ILCS 10/13 new) |
7 | | Sec. 13. Firearm legislation; requirements. Any member of |
8 | | the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining |
9 | | to a firearm must be able to produce proof, upon request, that |
10 | | he or she has completed: (1) the firearm training requirements |
11 | | under Section 35-40 of the Private Detective, Private Alarm, |
12 | | Private Security, Fingerprint Vendor, and Locksmith Act of |
13 | | 2004; (2) range safety officer training; and (3) a basic |
14 | | knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.
