SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Morris Dean Allen of Pekin, who passed
4away on July 15, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dean Allen was born to Gerald Lee and Amelia
6(Rocket) Allen in Peoria on June 20, 1937; he graduated from
7Pekin Community High School in 1955; he served in the U.S. Navy
8from 1955 to 1958; he married Betty Lou Schimmelpfennig in
9Pekin on June 11, 1982; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Dean Allen worked for Steamfitters Local 353 in
11Peoria for 38 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dean Allen was a member of Empire Lodge 126, the
13Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Illinois in Pekin, and Pekin
14Moose Lodge 916; he was a former member of the Timberlake Club
15of Peoria and the Pekin Eagles Aerie 1869; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Dean Allen enjoyed traveling, golfing, gardening,
17playing cards, and doing handyman work; he loved spending time
18with his family, talking to his friends, and going on golf cart
19rides; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dean Allen was preceded in death by his parents;

1his son, Troy Allen; his brothers, Monroe Allen, Donald Allen,
2and Jackie Lee Allen; his sisters, Janis Ward and Phyllis
3Morsch; his brother-in-law, Edward Schimmelpfennig; and his
4sisters-in-law, Ann Richmond, Mabel Look, Jackie Buff, and
5Mary Andrews; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Dean Allen is survived by his wife; his daughter,
7Stacey Lynn Allen; his grandchildren, Ian Allen, Steven
8Fredrickson, Elizabeth Fredrickson, and Abagail Fredrickson;
9his great-grandson, Everett Dean Fredrickson; his
10daughter-in-law, Gaylynn Allen; his brother-in-law, Robert
11"Buzz" (Dar) Schimmelpfennig; and his sister-in-law, Connie
12Schimmelpfennig; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
15Morris Dean Allen and extend our sincere condolences to his
16family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Dean Allen as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy.
