SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Terry Lee Van Nattan, who passed away
4on October 1, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Terry Lee Van Nattan was born to Arvil Nelson and
6Irene Edna (Hilst) Van Nattan in North Pekin on June 2, 1945;
7he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married
8Linda Tassart and they had one son, Rick; he later married
9Shirley Ann Quick in Pekin on April 16, 1971, and she preceded
10him in death on July 10, 1993; he later married Dotti Louise
11Sea in Clearwater, Florida on February 10, 2004, and she
12preceded him in death on February 27, 2013; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Terry Van Nattan was a heavy equipment operator
14for Operating Engineers Local 649, working for R.A. Cullinan
15in Tremont for 35 years before retiring in 2005; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Terry Van Nattan enjoyed vacationing in Florida
17every winter at Madeira Beach and visiting Jamaica, the Virgin
18Islands, Paradise Island in the Bahamas, and the Riviera Maya
19in Mexico; he enjoyed playing pool and cards with his friends
20and riding his motorcycle "Harley D"; he had a green thumb and
21liked doing yard work, gardening, and keeping his home
22beautiful; and

1    WHEREAS, Terry Van Nattan was preceded in death by his
2parents; his sister, Janet Maile; his half-brothers, Harold
3Hilst and Virgil Van Nattan; and his half-sister, Leota "Pat"
4Underwood; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Terry Van Nattan is survived by his son, Rick
6(Frankie) Van Nattan; his stepdaughters, Cindy Reis and Susan
7Benassi; his grandchildren, Kendra (Ryan) Wheeler, Joe
8(Christi) Patterson, Jamie Cates, Jordann Wright, Taylor
9Wright, Jarod Benassi, Brandi Van Nattan, and Ricky Van
10Nattan; his great-grandchild, Avery Wheeler; and his
11companion, Mary Lou Isbell; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Terry Lee Van Nattan and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Terry Van Nattan as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
