SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Frank B. Robinson of Rock Island, who
4passed away on November 12, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Robinson was born to William Robert and
6Aleta Elva Chapman Robinson in Rochester, New York on February
73, 1936; he married Joan Kieso at St. Paul Lutheran Church in
8Aurora, Illinois on December 26, 1959; he served in the U.S.
9Army from 1959 to 1961; he earned his undergraduate degree
10from Aurora College and his master's degree from the
11University of Illinois; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Frank Robinson worked as a biology teacher in the
13Rock Island/Milan School District No. 41 for 30 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Frank Robinson attended Two Rivers United
15Methodist Church in Rock Island, where he sang in the choir,
16played bells, taught Sunday school, and volunteered at the
17meal site for 20 years; he enjoyed volunteering at the Quad
18City Botanical Center and Black Hawk State Park, where he led
19many bird-watching expeditions; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Frank Robinson loved canoeing, bird-watching,
21wood carving, and traveling abroad, and he and his wife

1traveled to 12 countries together; he was an avid golfer and
2gardener and enjoyed spending any free time he had outdoors;
3he cherished spending time with his granddaughters more than
4anything; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frank Robinson lived a life of service to others
6and was a dear friend to many; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Frank Robinson was preceded in death by his
8parents; his wife; his daughter, Susan Natalie Robinson; and
9his siblings, Nola Marie Corbally, Frederick K. Williamson
10Robinson, and Joseph Robert Robinson; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Frank Robinson is survived by his children, Karin
12Joan (Dennis) Weigel and Thomas Lee Robinson, and his
13grandchildren, Sydney Suzanne Weigel, Kaylee Marie Weigel,
14McKenzie Karin Weigel, and Chelsey Denae Weigel; therefore, be
15it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
18Frank B. Robinson and extend our sincere condolences to his
19family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
20further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
