SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Firefighter Andrew Benjamin "Drew"
4Price of the Chicago Fire Department, who passed away on
5November 13, 2023 due to injuries sustained in the line of
6duty; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Drew Price was born to Rochelle and Grant Price
8in Fort Worth, Texas on January 7, 1984; he and his siblings,
9Courtney, Carissa, Jordan, and Natalie, were referred to as
10"The Fabulous Five" by friends and family; he graduated from
11the Chicago Fire Academy in 2009; he married his wife, Lara, in
12July 2020; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Drew Price, known as "DP" to his colleagues,
14served the Chicago Fire Department for 14 years; he was a proud
15member of Engine 55, Truck 44, and he truly treasured being a
16fireman, instructing new cadets at the academy, and serving
17alongside his company; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Drew Price was a member of the Chicago Blaze
19football team; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Drew Price was devoted to his wife and their
21dogs, Kai and Riley; he will be remembered for his selfless

1nature and his heart of gold; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Drew Price is survived by his wife, Lara Price;
3his in-laws, Karen (Tim) Radez, Vanessa (Greg) Mohr, Megan
4Price, Justin Reynolds, and Justin Weber; and six nieces and
5nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Firefighter Andrew Benjamin "Drew" Price and extend our
9sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
10and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Drew Price as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
