SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
735 ILCS 5/12-501   from Ch. 110, par. 12-501

    Amends the Code of Civil Procedure. Provides that a certified copy of a federal judgment order entered in this State may be filed in any circuit court and shall be afforded recognition as if it were a judgment entered in any other circuit court of this State.

1     AN ACT concerning civil procedure.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by
5 changing Section 12-501 as follows:
 
6     (735 ILCS 5/12-501)  (from Ch. 110, par. 12-501)
7     Sec. 12-501. Registration of Federal judgments. Judgments
8 of courts of the United States held, within this State, and all
9 process, returns, certificates of the levy of a process, and
10 records of such courts may be registered, recorded, docketed,
11 indexed or otherwise dealt with in, the public offices of this
12 State, so as to make them conform to the rules and requirements
13 relating to judgments of courts of this State. A certified copy
14 of a federal judgment order entered in this State may be filed
15 in any circuit court and shall be afforded recognition as if it
16 were a judgment entered in any other circuit court of this
17 State.
