SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of John J. Deutsch of Waukegan, who passed
4 away on January 8, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, John Deutsch was born on April 4, 1948 in Chicago;
6 his parents were John and Lillian Deutsch; he married Janet
7 Ogilvie on July 9, 1977 in Waukegan; and
 
8     WHEREAS, John Deutsch served in the United States Army
9 during the Vietnam War; he received a Purple Heart for injuries
10 he suffered during the conflict; and
 
11     WHEREAS, John Deutsch was employed with the Union Pacific
12 Railroad for 34 years; he planned to retire from his position
13 in April of 2008; and
 
14     WHEREAS, John Deutsch was an avid train collector; he also
15 enjoyed NASCAR and crossword puzzles; and
 
16     WHEREAS, John Deutsch was preceded in death by his parents;
17 and
 
18     WHEREAS, John Deutsch is survived by his wife, Janet; his
19 daughter, Lt. Jaclyn "Jackie" Deutsch; his son, John "Jay"

1 Deutsch II; his brother, Thomas (Diane) Deutsch; his sisters,
2 Edna (David) Sullivan and Pamela Deutsch; and his many nieces,
3 nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of John Deutsch; and be it
7 further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of John J. Deutsch as an expression of
10 our sympathy.
