SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Fred P. Swagerty of North Chicago, who
4 passed away on March 22, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Fred P. Swagerty was born March 31, 1934 in
6 Newport, Tennessee, to the late Herbert and Lillie Swagerty;
7 Fred accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at an early age;
8 the highlight of Fred Swagerty's life was when he was joined in
9 holy matrimony on October 1, 1956 to his adoring wife, Hilda;
10 and
 
11     WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army during peace
12 time and was employed at the Veterans Administration Hospital
13 in North Chicago, from which he retired after 30 years of
14 employment; he was also employed at the Shell service station
15 in Deerfield; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Fred's hobbies included playing golf and bowling;
17 he received many awards for his passion for golf and bowling;
18 Fred was also a past Exalted Ruler of the Little Fort Elks
19 Lodge 1390 in North Chicago; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Fred P. Swagerty was preceded in death by his
21 parents, Herbert and Lillie Swagerty; his brothers, William

1 "June" (Sally) Swagerty, Charles (Cheola) Swagerty, and Gene
2 Swagerty; and his sister, Mary Davis Woods; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Fred Swagerty leaves to cherish his memory his
4 beautiful wife of 52 years, Hilda Swagerty; his sister,
5 Katherine Swagerty; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and
6 many, many friends; Fred will also be dearly missed by his
7 bowling buddies, "The Wolfpack", "The Sunday Night Mixed"
8 bowling league, and the members of the Little Fort Elks Lodge
9 1390; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of Fred P. Swagerty; and be
13 it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Fred P. Swagerty as a symbol of our
16 sincere sympathy.
