SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
10 ILCS 5/7-16  from Ch. 46, par. 7-16

    Amends the Election Code. Provides that an election authority shall, at least 46 days (now, 45 days) prior to the date of the primary election, have a sufficient number of ballots printed so that the ballots will be available for mailing 45 days prior to the primary election. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning elections.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Election Code is amended by changing Section
57-16 as follows:
 
6    (10 ILCS 5/7-16)  (from Ch. 46, par. 7-16)
7    Sec. 7-16. Each election authority in each county shall
8prepare and cause to be printed the primary ballot of each
9political party for each precinct in the election authority's
10his respective jurisdiction.
11    The election authority shall, at least 46 45 days prior to
12the date of the primary election, have a sufficient number of
13ballots printed so that such ballots will be available for
14mailing 45 days prior to the primary election to persons who
15have filed application for a ballot under the provisions of
16Article 20 of this Act.

18    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19becoming law.
