SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
605 ILCS 5/9-130  from Ch. 121, par. 9-130

    Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Provides that ice or snow plowed or removed from a residential driveway may not be deposited upon a public highway if it creates a traffic safety hazard as determined by local or State police. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by changing
5Section 9-130 as follows:
 
6    (605 ILCS 5/9-130)  (from Ch. 121, par. 9-130)
7    Sec. 9-130. No person, firm, corporation or institution,
8public or private, shall plow or remove or cause to be plowed
9or removed ice or snow from any shopping center, parking lot,
10commercial or institutional service area or driveway or any
11other public or private service area or driveway and deposit
12such ice or snow upon a public highway or along the shoulder or
13edge of a public highway. Such prohibition shall not pertain to
14a residential driveway or sidewalk. However, ice or snow plowed
15or removed from a residential driveway may not be deposited
16upon a public highway if it creates a traffic safety hazard as
17determined by local or State police.
18    Any person, firm, corporation or institution, public or
19private, who violates this Section is guilty of a petty
20offense.
