SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Sergeant Alan J. Haymaker, who passed
4away February 22, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sergeant Alan J. Haymaker was born on July 5,
61953; he was an active member at Bethel Community Church and
7the Chicago Chapter of Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Sergeant Haymaker was appointed to the Chicago
10Police Department in 1988 and served faithfully for over two
11decades; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Sergeant Haymaker was a third-generation officer
13with the Chicago Police Department, preceded by his father and
14grandfather; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The Chicago Police Department has retired
16Sergeant Haymaker's star, numbered 2532; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Sergeant Haymaker was a proud member of the
18Chicago Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #7; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Sergeant Haymaker leaves behind his wife, his

1daughters, his parents, his brothers, and his sisters; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Sergeant Haymaker dedicated and gave his life to
3protecting and serving the people of Illinois; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6his family, friends, and his Fraternal Order of Police brothers
7and sisters, the passing of Sergeant Alan J. Haymaker; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Sergeant Haymaker as an expression
11of our sympathy.
